Skype it – Freetalk Everyman headset rocks!

I’m in love! I just got to try the new Everyman headset by Freetalk(r)!

I’ve been using Skype for over a year for just about everything. The way my life changes and shifts, this way I have a set access for making all the calls, doing my radio show, recording podcasts and returning phone calls without any interruption.  I normally use a Logitech headset I bought at WalMart two years ago that had excellent pickup and sound, but unfortunately the boom microphone has seen better days and it’s now duct taped into place and snaps and pops in protest.

I was visiting a friend, had forgotten my headset and had to make an important call. I was on my new netbook, one without the standard green and pink connectors and  OH – I MUST HAVE ONE. This model is one I believe that is on the way to release.

I checked out the Skype website and there is one that looks like the same one, that’s available now for $22.88. Here’s what I love about it:

It connects via USB

It has it’s little sound “card” inline with the cord so it’s independent of whatever sound card you got with your system

It has a really sweet microphone that is truly noise canceling – even without a spitshield (that’s the little foam covering that keeps coming off that keeps the snaps and pops from showing up).

In the immortal words of Will Smith in Independence Day – “I gotta get me one of these!”
